Small object of desire #16 – Neologism

Well, if it was good enough for Shakespeare…

I am a writer who is deeply interested in language and how it evolves. Words and their etymology bring out the geek in me but making up my own words goes a step better. Not that I’ve come up with that many:

Treefy adj. Tree-lined and leafy. As in “this is a very treefy avenue.”

Funch n. Sex at lunchtime. As in “darling, can we have some funch today?”

Tottenham Hale n. A rather hearty and enthusiastic greeting. As in “he gave me a right Tottenham Hale!”

That’s it for today but watch this space for more.
